The Assignment
Representing ten commercial photographers and directors, Heather Elder Represents is an agency whose proprietor also hosts a podcast, Dear Art Producer, and writes about the photographer community on Notes From a Rep’s Journal. In what amounts to an in-house digital content agency, for my part, I write website copy, journal stories, email, and social marketing copy for the agency. I also lead the development of the artists’ values-driven bios.
The Copy
Website
With a smattering of different kinds of animals, from cats, bees, Bearded dragons, forest animals to trained Blue Jays, we call them family. As an overwhelmingly dog-friendly crew with 18 dogs, one has been bark-mitzvah’d, one is named after a ballpark, another is missing her spleen, and, of those adopted, most have chosen not to find out who their birth parents are.

Doug Menuez Documents the Changing Face of Kingston, NY
Under the radar from the city of Kingston at large, Doug Menuez‘s “Wild Place” is a years-long series, a positive voice for what he sees and who he meets in his beloved hometown. Clients choose Doug for his photojournalistic style and ability to deliver authenticity, capturing the moments that others might not. This collection illustrates that approach.
And, this inconspicuous ongoing series is not so clandestine any longer. The internationally renowned Center for Photography, formerly located in Woodstock, NY, will now be relocating to Kingston. Doug’s series will be the grand-opening exhibit at the center and will simultaneously show at photographer Aaron Rezny’s gallery. See the full post here.
Andy Anderson’s Curiosity Captures the Soul of the Argentinean Gaucho
“Along with being a photographer, comes a responsibility to use this powerful tool to tell stories about the joy of discovery that this curiosity offers.” Andy Anderson
There isn’t a time when Andy Anderson can’t recall having horses in his life. Being a military child meant Andy and his family moved around from Puerto Rico to Florida to Idaho. Each home brought adventure living in remote areas, with the outdoors right at his doorstep. The family horses, Paso Finos, joined the Anderson family in Puerto Rico and were part of each relocation. The Pasos were some of the constants throughout Andy’s childhood.
Enamored with the outdoors, Andy usually documents pastoral landscapes; traveling to places near and far. He has a particular urgency in his travels; wanting to see the world and capture scenes before the ruggedness of the outdoors disappears. Seeing as horses were practically in his DNA, and his curiosity being the fuel to his photography, he set off to South America to document landscapes, horses, gauchos, and old-style ranching where it all began.
